Dragon’s Hope: A Hallr Wood Story by MaidenCrone

Sunday 2 October 4pm

Be pixie-led, and fairy-bound, in Hallr Wood turn thrice around. If riddles speak and paths unwind then Dragon’s hope is yours to find.
All is not well with the deep dwelling dragon of Hallr Wood and the fairy queen is worried, very worried.  If she cannot find the right remedy for the dragon, and he leaves, never to return, what will happen to the wood?
It falls to Scrumpy, Hallr Wood’s naughtiest pixie and most unlikely heroine, to save the day, the wood, and possibly the whole world…

A woodland adventure story for the whole family.

MaidenCrone is musician Caelia Lunniss and storyteller Lizzie Bryant:

Lizzie Bryant has been working professionally as a storyteller and creative practitioner, sharing and nurturing stories with children, young people and adults for the past six years.  Her storytelling started when she discovered there were dragons asleep in barrows in the Stonehenge landscape and created story walks to tell people. After a long career in the film production, script editing and producing and a shorter one as a stone mason/conservator, Lizzie now works with schools, museums, libraries, woods, festivals and a variety of landscapes and venues across the South West and further afield, anywhere seeking enchantment and a journey into the landscape of the imagination.  She recently completed an MA in creative writing for children at Winchester Uni and is also currently busy writing stories. Please see her website for more details.

Caelia is a multi instrumentalist based in Glastonbury and Bristol. She has played and arranged for several different folk, pop and classical projects, recording and performing all over the UK. She has also collaborated with Nina Bambrey of Whispering Woods to provide musical accompaniment for outdoor story and acrobatic performance in woods. She is delighted to be working with Lizzie at Hallr Wood.

Wilder Woods is a small educational charity which aims to enable people to benefit, learn and develop through woodland experiences. They provide a variety of inclusive opportunities at Hallr Wood in Charlton Mackrell and Drayton Woods, near Langport and also other venues, including school grounds.

On October 2 they will be holding their Open Day at Hallr Wood which will include this storytelling performance by Lizzie Bryant and Caelia Lunies. There will also be craft demos and kiln firing, an art trail, and a woodland cafe.
