For Adult Beginners with Lisa Schneidau and Ronnie Conboy
Saturday 4 June 2.30–5.30pm
Performance storytelling is enjoying a revival. Have you always wanted to try storytelling, but don’t know where to start?
Join Lisa Schneidau and Ronnie Conboy for an informal half-day workshop on how to start traditional storytelling. Aimed at adult beginners, this workshop will give you some pointers on what makes a good story, some inspiration on where to find stories, how to remember them, and some experience of telling (without notes!). We will have some fun playing with various story types, and discover how storytelling lies very close to the surface of our everyday lives.
Places on this workshop are only £5. Places are very limited, so please book early! You can book online here.
Refreshments are available at the bar. You might also want to come along to the Story Slam in the evening, to hear a selection of stories from local tellers in a lighthearted and informal competition for the title of storyking/queen for the night….
This event is hosted by South Devon Storytellers, an informal story circle for established and new storytellers alike, that meets monthly in Totnes. You can find out more at the group’s Facebook page or follow them on Twitter @SouthDevStories.
Upstairs at the Dartmouth Inn, Warland, Totnes, TQ9 5EL.
Tickets £5 per person. Places are limited!
